I am not sure if the title is the propper english word for it. I met a woman who can make these lace clothes. If you look at it, it is amazing how she can keep the wooden "klosjes" apart. In the Netherlands it is a traditional form of etnic art. In early days done by women in wintertime, while men were out of the house - fishing, farming, working. Nowadays there are unions to keep this kind of art craft alive.
dear AM3 friends, now & then there will be a new picture. bye bye
Yes, keep them weaving! Nice arrangement of old craft, when it's not kept alive then within a few years nobody will know how to do it anymore, it needs also experience. BTW, yes you take always the weather with you, only not, as the TV commercial suggested, the weather of your choice. That's the problem these days: we are too much accustomed to choose everything, instead of enjoying what we have we always choose better and more or what we think is better. Did these lace weaving people have choices? Now I stop.

I have seen this also at arenactment of old days at Millbrook Village... The colors are beautiful and sone of the klosjes" can be quite beautiful in different metals and colors other than wood... I guess it depends on where you are from and what you have collected over the years.. beautiful capture
